Known for its history, cool climate wines and spectacular nature activities, the Southern Highlands offers something for everyone.

The Southern Highlands is made up of a number of towns and villages all with their own personalities and all offering visitors something different.  These include: Avoca, Balmoral, Berrima, Bowral, Burrawang, Canyonleigh, Colo Vale, Exeter, Fitzroy Falls, Hill Top, Mittagong, Moss Vale, Penrose, Robertson, Sutton Forest, Wildes Meadow, Wingello and Yerrinbool.

Joining Illawarra Fly in outdoor activities is Wombeyan Caves, Budderoo National Park and Carrington Falls which are the perfect outdoor adventures for those who love to explore in and amongst nature.

Love a nice glass of wine? There are so many spectacular wineries to choose from, so here’s a list of some of the best: Artemis Wines and Tertini Wines near Mittagong, St Maur Wines and Cuttaway Hill Wines near Exeter and Eling Forest Winery, Cherry Tree Hill Vineyard and Southern Highlands Winery near Sutton Forest.

Two major annual events run in the Southern Highlands, one for the entire month of June and the other in September/October. PIE TIME in June,  celebrates all things pies as the region boasts with over 30 local bakeries, and of course wineries, that offer pies and pinot for the month of June. The other is TULIP TIME, which runs late September through to early October and showcases the most magnificent Tulip gardens. The Southern Highlands is also home to the famous Bradman Museum and International Cricket Hall of Fame. You can even visit Sir Donald Brandman’s childhood home at 52 Shepherd Street!
